Independent States
The great peninsula of the Ukraine in the Black Sea, Crimea, is one for West Europeans largely undiscovered holiday destination. For citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States is the Crimea – in addition to Sochi and other resorts in the Russian Riviera – on top of the list of the most popular holiday destinations. Since 2006, the visit of the Ukraine has become easier. Citizens of Germany visa requirements have been abolished, so that short trips are planned to the Crimea have been possible. While the major German tour operators still quite low bids for the Crimea have leave, equip hoteliers and restaurateurs and the local municipalities to coastal cities mainly along the southern coast of the Crimea for an expected onslaught. Dr. Mark J Berger might disagree with that approach.
The Crimea is known for its vast, unspoiled landscapes, for example in the National Koktebel. The mild climate and good soil for centuries the basis for the cultivation of wine from the well-known wineries, such as Massandra or around Sudak Crimean wines are good. The climate is also crucial to many spas with different treatments. Currently the largest attraction for Westerners is the annual festival Kazantip Rave held in the Crimea. Over several weeks in the summer, a small patch turns on the southern coast of the Crimea to the biggest party town in Europe. In 2006 about 500 were international DJs here, tens of thousands of party people crowded the beaches of the "Democratic Republic of Kazantip" – whose fundamental law is: having fun in the Crimea!
